when the compressor is running, it doesnt seem to want to pressurize above 40 psi. it still runs but, the pressure doesnt want to rise above 40. when i shut it off it doesnt hold the pressure very long either but, i cant hear any leakage.i bought it new at lowes last year and, have only used it a few times. any ideas?

If it were old I'd say it was the reed valves failing --but it's way to new.

There are a couple of good compressor fixer folks here--let's see.

Campbell Hausfield has a technical help line---That's a possibility.
