Hello everyone. I have three vision cages model # 222. I love these cages except for the one flaw of haveing a huge cup holder sort of thing for a light dome. the cage is made of impact-resistant polyethylene and I dont have the slightest idea of how I would remove this thing.

any help would be appreciated.

Isn't that for a ceramic heat emitter?

Its for a heat lamp mostly. But I live in a hot and humid place and extra heat would be unssesary and I want to remove it for more cage space.

Considered a router with bit 1/4" wider than the guide bearing? Just run it around the inside rim of the hole.

Thats perfect!! I was going to go with wire and a hot pen but a router is just so much cleaner of a cutter! Thank you very much

If the same diameter, cut the bottom with grill off and glue that back on the shortened tube...., unless you want the open hole for feeding.
