I have a 1/3 hp drain cleaning machine. The snake has two very small kinks in it (my bad) that are barely visible. I was able to complete a difficult grease cleanout despite the kinks.

My question is, should I replace this snake immediately? I do not know if these very slight kinks seriously weaken the cable or not. Again, you would not notice them if you did not know where to look.

howdy, i have found that on one half inch and smaller cable, any kinks that can be straightened with pliars are ok. If you heat them and straighten them, there is a risk of the cable breaking at the kink and saying goodbye to you since it will be staying in the sewer line.....
Small kinks do not have be perfectly staightened --- the extra wobble in the cable will help clean the pipe walls... good luck
