Hello,

I'm working on stripping exterior paint and I've found that I have some luck using sprayable paint stripper as long as I layer in pretty thickly. I'm talking about the nasty, caustic, MC stuff you can see here:

http://www.kleanstrip.com/product/premium-sprayable-stripper

Problem is, this stuff costs 23 dollars a gallon pre-tax at local hardware stores, and I can burn through a gallon *very* fast. I feel like there has to be a way to get this stuff or something like it in bulk cheaper than the Home Depot price. Anyone know of a way to do this?

Thanks!
Matt

Probably not going to get it without a license, let alone the fact that the government is getting pretty picky on how much of certain items that a person purchases. Also given the fact that you may attract attention with it being a Acid.

Why are you stripping all of the paint off? Does it contain Lead paint in it? How do you plan on disposing of all of the paint removed, along with the stripper?

If just chalking and loose in a few places, usually just scraping and a good pressure washing to not engrave the wood, will usually remove any loose paint.

That stuff is what my wife's work uses to strip planes. I doubt that you can get anything better than 1 gallon containers at a certain quantity. Her work gets it in huge totes that get brought in on truck and when they are empty, they get the empty ones taken away and the new ones put back in place.

Of course they have a procedure to disposed of all of the paint stripper and paint that comes off of the planes, along with they have to use respirators, suits, gloves, boots, face shields.
