Hello members,
I would really appreciate if you can help me identify the type of bulb; please see attached images. I had no luck so far. It seems to have filament in the middle.

Also ...would it be possible to replace this with an LED version? Hoping to go energy efficient with it. The base socket of the bulb says 250V / 2A as shown in one of the photos; hence I'm doubtful a plug & play LED bulb will work.

Thanks in advance.

cheers

It's commonly called a G9 halogen. The bulb is usually a T4 with the g9 base.
Assuming it is the 40w, yes they are making a 5watt LED equivelent.

My guess you will find the LED to be a little less bright than the 40w halogen.

The 250v/2A is the max rating of the base. The bulb will be 120 or 130v rated,

The rating is printed on the flat portion of the glass above the pins. I can't quite make it out. some volts and 40 watts?
What is it for? Light fixture? or some sort of projector?
Thanks for the reply joed.

The photos didn't turn out well on my cellphone; there are some text on the flat portion of the glass ...but its hard to read as text faded away; but it appears to be 40 watts - now that you mentioned it.

This bulb is for a light fixture in the bathroom; just above the mirror. There are two of these bulbs in this particular fixture.
