Ok this is what it looks like. I want to make a little 1 ft high cement wall that is 2' 1/2" thick. I was planning on building the form to incorporate the small footing as well.

My question is should it be connected to the existing slab that is my driveway? and can it be continuous the entire length, or should it be in sections, to allow for movement?

I plan on using what I have laying around, were tight on money. I want to do this to make it pretty, keep the trash out, and keep the dirt in.. Thankyou

arrr I will send pics from phone after this thank you

Don't know where you are located, so this reply might not be correct because of that lack of info.

Assuming you are not in a frost region, I would keep the curb unattached. Make joints at the same places as the cuts in the existing slab.

oh sorry about that sir. Im in Las Vegas. How deep and wide does the footing need to be and is rebar required? Also, the notches are actual separations correct? Or are they partial notches, that will snap at the notch if movement of the concrete part occurs?

And are there any diy release agent recipes that you might recommend?

I really really value and appreciate your wisdom, time, and assistance. Wow, thank you

You can pour right next to it.
Diesel fuel works well as a release agent.
Probably 8 inches deep and 8 inches wide would work.
A single run of rebar would be enough for me.
Yes, partial notches are where I would place the joints.

to clarify, this new mini wall must not touch the slab at all?? can I pour the lower portion next to it, to where its touching the existing side of slab, but not on top of it? if that makes sense? If you could break things down for me, why should it be separated in the first place. Im thinking that on top of the slab- it might not be a good idea, but next to it, touching, but not at all on top of the existing slab- is that ok for the mini wall form??

Im learnin lol
