Trying to build a new workstation. We have lots of excess stuff in the garage so been using what we got to work with.

Particle board is the underpayment....
Real hardwood flooring as the top.

I’m wood glueing all the joints of the hardwood so they stay together along with nailing them in place.

What glue should I use to glue down the hardwood to particle board? Wood glue? Loctite/small trowel?

Trying my best to give it all strength so it can span a long ways with very little support.

What can I do the strengthen it?

You have 100% support along the back. That is good. Now use a rigid front face lip 3/4 x 2 or 3" wide. If you don't use a full length piece, put the seem under a support.
