Hi all new to the website (great forum by the way) and i have a few questions about building a roof over a deck i just built (12X32). I live in south Texas (1.5 years, moved from Wyoming) about 45 miles from Corpus Christi. We bought 10+ acres and put a Clayton (2006 repo) single wide (18X76) trailer on the property. Used a base of caliche with cinder block foundation to place the trailer on. My question is can i attach a gable roof off the existing MH roof on one side with 8X8 posts on the other, i am going to probably cover/enclose 16' of the deck. Do you think this could be to much weight on the roof (house is a zone 2 wind rating). A free standing roof wouldn't look that good and it would be a pain to dig the footings for the posts closest to the house. Any suggestions??

Sorry, no. You can tie into it but cannot add any weight to the structure itself. They are only designed for their own live and dead loads. You can always wrap the posts with something to blend them into the existing finishes though.
