Please help. My son found a stripe on his bed that had tiny little white worms. They only seem to be in this one place. I looked up bed bugs and it doesn't look like them. Online I found pics of carpet beetle larva and also flea larva that could be it. We live down south and have pets so fleas are a constant battle we fight. Please let me know what you think it may be and what I need to do to get rid of them! Needless to say we have the heebie-jeebies. Thank you in advance.

I agree with you, looks like flea larvae, as you mention you have pets and it's a continue battle. That is probably where they are coming from.

Do any pets sleep or jump on the bed, couches, etc.?? Keep them off the beds and couches, etc., get a bed of their own and treat that daily.

Ask your veterinarian what the best solution would be to treat your pets. Imo, your pets are probably bringing them in. They can't help it, so you will help to come up with a solution. You can try the typical otc stuff for treating fleas. Flea collars, flea bombs, etc.

Hope you get it figured out and eliminate them soon jusan.

Look up tapeworms from your pet. The little segments break apart and wiggle. Sometimes they come out more with hot weather. Possibly, the animal gets too hot for them. Not usually dangerous to you. The ones I've seen are slightly beige. Look at your pets' backsides. Cats and dogs.

The cure for that would be a Droncit shot for the pet or Praziquantal pills which you can buy at some pet stores.

Your vet can give a shot for all the other worms, like heart worms.

Any pet that has fleas ( goes outside) can have tapeworm. I've never seen wormlike young fleas.

Try Advantage II or Revolution as drops you can apply to the nape of the neck once a month. The over the counter flea collar is now thought to be toxic. Walmart has Advantage II.

By the way, where are you in general? If you're in another country that is tropical there are human tapeworms. Not to scare you, here.

"As Rover sleeps, tapeworm segments are passed
The sac, called a "proglottid," is passed from the host's rectum and out into the world, either on the host's stool or on the host's rear end. The segment is the size of a grain of rice and is able to move. Eventually the segment will dry and look more like a sesame seed.Jun 1, 2019"

Good point nik333 makes, Have your pets checked out for tape worms or intestinal parasites. Collect a stool sample from each pet and bring it to the veterinarian for examination. They will find out for sure what it is.

I forgot to say that I have several pets and since I've used Advantage II, I haven't seen any tapeworm. Although, it doesn't kill the worms it helps with control by killing the fleas. I went to Revolution because we moved to a place that had ear mites ( 3 dogs lived there, before).

Although, AdvantageII isn't cheap, I don't have to use it every month. After the first couple months of use, I can put it on a couple animals and it appears to be transferred to other pets. I can't give a link for that, it's just my own experience. I don't have fleas either!

The drops help with the fleas in the environment, also, in my experience.

I hope you will come back and comment. Don't be embarrassed if it is tapeworms , everyone who doesn't treat them will have them if they let animals out.
