brighter light bulbs

Hello
I have a strange problem.
I have aluminum wire in my basement.
There was a bad connection by a light bulb and some wires got hot.
I cut back the wires and made new connections and all looks good.
I was hammering in a staple near the wiring box the light bulb is attached to, then, the light bulb got brighter. I turn off the light and turned it back on again and the brightness was back to normal.
I hammered again, and it got brighter.
Whats up ?

I checked again, and all connections appear tight.

Vibrating the bulb causes the filament to partially short out, making it brighter.

Take out the bulb first if you're going to be hammering next to it. It'll burn out quick under these circumstances.
