I had a briggs /stratton model 40320 emergency generator system installed yesterday and it will run for only about 20 seconds and then shut off. The installer says that he thinks the generator has a ng jet in the carb instead of the lp jet that should have been installed at the factory as this is advertised as a LP only unit. Any one else have this problem or have any suggestions?

Concat the B&S service tech or someone qualifed to work on this unit and have it check out the fuel supply then check the rest of the system to make sure they are set up properly.

BTW for the generator for this size you will need half inch copper or steel pipe ( CSST may allow if your code do allow it ) and pressure for LP verison is at 11" WC or 2 PSIG depending on set up.

This is a load of crap. That is an LP/nat convertible unit. I have installed about ten of these exact units.

It DOES NOT matter which jet was installed from the factory. It is the gas installer's responsibility to confirm that the unit is set up to run on the fuel supplied.
