I have a 1950s brick bungalow with central air. The central air is also piped to finished attic. My question is this. Without making any improvements at first. What is the best and most efficient way to cool house. Attic windows open and downstairs door open to allow heavier cold air down and hotter air up and out at same time leaving a/c open to attic? I’m looking for convection efficiency options. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Why are the attic windows open in a conditioned attic? Maybe i don't understand where these attic windows are located.

Being you have a stair well that's about as good as it gets for flowing warm air up and cooler air down. You can test this air flow, both direction and rate of flow, with a incense smoke stick.
