I'm going to be replacing my sink cartridge soon, and it looks like there is a brass and plastic one at Lowe's. The one in the sink right now looks plastic. Is there a difference, besides cost? Does the brass one work better?
We have really hard water and we soften it. I've heard the softener destroys the cartridges, but not sure if it's true or not. Does this play into the brass vs plastic?
