Need some pointers on boxing steel I beams and ducts with steel studs.
Also pop outs ? for feeding electrical. Doorways I asume I will frame with 2 x 4
Last of all need to hang 8' x 30" cabinets in laundry room and 12' x 24" in entertainment area. Debating plywood backing on top of studs, or 2X4 within steel or just 2x4 for these 2 walls but the 2x4 loses R value...

A powder nail gun (shoots 22 shells and steel nails) can be used to fasten the track to the steel beams. Then just screw the studs to the track with #6 X 3/8" self tapping screws.

Insert 2X4 inside the steel around the door frame

Use 1/2" over the studs on the walls where you need to hang cabinets.
Thanks Bob,

I have a Remington single shot power nailer. Can I use that and do I need to pre drill.

No drilling needed. The red shots (#1) will drive the pins (nails) into the steel just fine. For metal track get the pins that are made for this. A little washer is built in to prevent just blowing a hole through it.
