Looking for some advice on how you guys would go about boarding up these windows for hurricanes. I'm located down in South Texas and hurricane season just started so a little late to the game. Did it once already with long screws and want to find a better, more permanent solution. Planning on painting the house soon so don't want to patch up the existing holes and have to do it all over again. I can't use the clips due to not enough to grab onto. I'd like to use those female inserts that you can thread into for a cleaner look (but not sure they would work) but I'm open for other options as well. Don't really want to use shutters or anything that will look bad being there all year long. There is a good thickness of foam around the windows. Any advice is much appreciated.

Have you looked that those systems that have blankets that installed on screws that can be left attached.
