He does not know what it is called and he asked me. I have seen Blue Pipe for sewers, I believe it was called :"Blue Bell:". I don't think this is PEX, but that is why I asked you guys. Anyone else got an opinion or an answer? Anyone from Washington State South of Seattle

Why does he not believe that it is PEX? PEX, HDPE & CTS are products used for utilities now days. Anyone from Seattle is going to state the same thing that I did. There is no other product used for Potable water. It does not matter what the company name on it states. It is nothing that he or you have to spend hours trying to figure out.

Gregsoll, I think you are reading too much into the question. My friend asked the question and I am trying to get him an answer. I have worked on many types of pipe but PEX became popular here in California after I retired in 1999. That is why I turned to you guys on this Plumbing Forlum. So I am just trying to get an answer for my friend. Thanks for your input.

PEX, HDPE, CTS is popular, because bad water chemistry does not eat up the piping like it does to Copper.

You are seeing more of it used instead of Copper, because it cannot be recycled.
The reality is that plastic is cheaper than copper. Most installers don't care about water quality

What is CTS?

:) I knew that, just thought it humorous to see it listed as a type of pipe like pex or poly....

Blue brute and C900 were mentioned earlier. I'm not aware of this type available in sizes suitable for a single home

My best guess is still PEX but can not be sure from the pics. The color seems a little light from what I have used around here.
Could just be a another mfg.
Can your buddy pick up any markings on the tubing?
And why is it important to know? Changing something?
