Hi! While digging up some plants in attempt to clean up the area, my son broke this black pipe with electrical wires. I am 99% sure they go to the underground pool light that hasn't worked for years. How do we repair it properly so we can move on? I don't care about fixing the light (it never works for long anyway) just want to move on with the yard work and be safe. Thanks!

IF you want to abandon it, locate the circuit that controls it, making sure that is the ONLY thing it controls, turn it off, remove the breaker and cut the cable/wires close to the edge of the panel so they can't be reconnected, then do the same where your break is, and remove the receptacle/light and abandon it as well, cutting the wires back.

Or go find the other end of the pipe, pull the wires out, and stick em on your shelf for potential reuse. You'd have to help the wires by the broken part. If you skin the wires that section is trash obviously.
