Hello,

I am trying to replace the left grip shifter on a mountain bike.

The existing one is an SRAM MRX 200-12. It's a 3 speed and clicks when moving between speeds unlike some that do one smooth shift.

Can I use any new 3 speed index shifter or is it specific to the bike?

The closest i found online is MRX 200-10.

There's also a set on amazon from the same make:
"SRAM MRX 21 Speed (3 x 7) Grip Shift Set - 689597"


Also, how hard is it to find a replacement mounting screw?
Mine got stripped.

Should work. As long as the travel between the clicks is the same, but I would imagine that is somewhat universal or close enough to work. Never had any issues swapping hardware before on older bikes.
