I am in the process of sealing some openings in my attic.

What is the best way or the right way to seal the electrical junction boxes in the attic attached to the ceiling/drywall?

I have seen online that people just spray foam all over it.
I have seen online that some people recommend caulking it. Silicone or latex?
I have seen some covers, like a recessed light cover over the box.

Any advice is appreciated.

You can seal the gap around the ceiling boxes with caulking. That is often the major source of air leaks. If you want a total sealing and have access from above, I like wrapping them with the fire stop putty pads. Seals the holes and around the wires.

I do not like the bury it with canned spray foam approach. Most of them are flammable.
