I have some very very dirty mini blinds from a home I rented out.
What is the best/easiest way to clean them?
Someone told me to let them soak in a tub for a few hours and they will be clean.
I haven't tried anything yet so any help is really appreciated.
4 years of dust and gunk on them....
Thanks!!

Depending on how wide they are, if you have a dishwasher, empty it and lay them across the top rack, letting them slip over the plate holders, secure the drawstring so it doesn't get caught on anything.

A presoak wouldn't hurt, but may not be necessary.

There so inexpencive I just toss them and buy new ones .
Soaking them in a bathroom tub with some Orange cleaner will safely degreace them just more work and makes a mess.
To me time is money.

I agree they tend to be cheap, more so for vinyl than aluminum if they are stock widths.

But I also understand "time is money" only to the extent that someone is ready to pay you for your time. Not everybody is fortunate enough to have somebody ready to pay them for all their waking hours.

I've soaked them in the tub before with decent success. Hot water and Krud Kutter or any quality cleaner helps get most of the crap off of them.

I have used a couple spring clamps and clamped them to the top of a step ladder and used a soft brush with soapy water then hose them off and let them drip dry. This way you can adjust the slats and get at them.

If the are less than 3 foot wide a wallpaper wetting tray outside keeps the mess out of the tub. Soak for a few minutes and then hose them off. I use dish machine powder rather diluted so as to not remove the paint.

I take them into the bathroom and hang them up inside the tub and use Fantastic and a paint brush then rinse with the hand held shower head.

At least I used to. The cats have wrecked them all since then.
