I'm looking to build a very small balcony -- probably large enough for two people to sit -- outside my window, on top of the slanted roof of my side porch.

Pictures:

From inside the window, the part of the roof I'd ideally be building on: http://tinypic.com/r/2vlqypt/5

The whole roof from above (I don't necessarily have to build on only one of the three sides of the roof, but I assume it's easiest and I don't need that much space, just somewhere to sit): http://tinypic.com/r/118d53p/5

The side porch:

The top of the roof comes up to the bottom of the window, with about a foot between the peak of the roof and the leftmost part of the window. The lowest part of the roof is 22 inches below the window, and it slopes down at roughly 205 degrees.

I can't really know how strong the roof itself is, but I've had two people sitting on it at once, probably 300 pounds. Underneath the shingles is what looks like copper roofing.

What's the best way for me to do this? I'm willing to keep the balcony rectangular and keep it only as long as the peak where the three sides meet, rather than extending it all the way to the corner/covering the whole third of the roof (unless anyone thinks it's better to put it over the whole thing, again). No need to do anything to the window, I have no problem crawling out. I have very basic carpentry skills but learn quickly and am good at figuring things out, but I don't have the expertise to know the best/cheapest/easiest/safest approach.

Yes Im sorry to put a downer on your plans, but I think Willie is right. To put anything on a front entryway roof is going to look terrible. To meet code and even be halfway safe you would have to also put handrails up and the whole mess would just look awful.
