Best way to add another toilet and sink to this existing cast iron drain

Hello,

I’d like to add a half bath with toilet and sink. I have 2 possibilities here.

1. Can I cut off the existing pipe shown in the pic and use a fernco to transition to pvc and put a sweeping wye basically inline with the current toilet drain?

2. If that’s not recommended, it appears a wye was capped off with some putty like compound and maybe I can add the additional toilet drain into this?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Zack

Thanks that’s what I was thinking. I just have to clear out some studs from a non load bearing wall so should be fairly simple.
