I want to put a larger A-frame jack on my trailer and it currently has a 2" outer diameter pipe on the jack. I wan to use a jack that has a 2.25 inch outer diameter pipe. The Upper mounting metal where the jack goes has a hole that works just fine, but right below it is a secondary piece of 1/8 sheet metal that only has a 2" hole.
I'm trying to figure out the best and lowest cost way to bore this out. I'll be working from a 2" hole from the top so I only have so many options..
Should I get a die grinder and a grinding bit? I'm thinking the angle grinder style material that i use to sharpen the mower blade would be a good material choice, but they don't come in 1" size bits do they?
Should I try to use a hole saw?
What tool can I use that won't wear out completely during this job and cost an arm and a leg?
Let me know if you can suggest any links for how best to do this job..
