Hi All,
I'm looking for the best or most practical solution to fix the sidewalk that was installed along our driveway last month. We also had the front step replaced as well during the project.

I repeatedly expressed my concern that the sidewalk be nice and straight along the side that would meet up with the asphalt driveway and was told it wouldn't be a problem. I even paid extra $ for them to cut along the asphalt to make sure they could get a nice straight line. As you can see from the photo, that's not what we got and it's driving me crazy every time I look at it.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can either make that side of the sidewalk nice and straight or at least appear to be nice and straight? Hindsight being what it is, I regret not taking on the project myself in the first place.

Thanks for the help!

You could grind off the bumps to make it look straighter.

Qs: 1. Did you put your request and extra payment offer in writing?
2. Have you paid in full?
- If yes, call the sub contractor and ask him to correct it.
If he bulks, gives you the runaround or stops answering your texts/calls AND you haven't paid in full, hold the last payment till he does what he said he would.
I was a GC and a builder, and putting everything in writing and holding payment always got me what we agreed on.
Remember this: Any sub contractor who tells you "No Problem" means: there will be problems.
