What is the best roof sealant in a tube that can withstand freezing cold weather?

I agree with Ed. Not enough information to form opinions. However, a roof should need no sealants if it is applied correctly. What is leaking?

Most products can withstand freezing temps once they are applied/cured. But not all products can withstand freezing temps while still in the tube.


As the others have said - more details would help us help you better.

Caulks work on roofs too. Does not have to be tar base. I think osi quad depends on solvent evaporation to cure, not water base which I assume can freeze before curing. More important will be working carefully on a roof while the body is freezing.

Sorry for the lack of details. I'll be gluing down loose shingles. Looking for a quality product that will hold up in extreme conditions, especially freezing winters.

If your just resealing shingles I would recommend regular roof cement.
I have seen excessive use of other types of caulk cause damage to shingles.

I'd use the tar caulk, it's pretty much the same as roof cement but easier to squirt it under the shingles. Doing it on a warm sunny day is best.

I have always used polyurethane caulk. The black stuff. I have tried every thing else out there. I’ve had problems with silicone, and any type of latex. Silicone tends to constrict and separate after a few years. Latex(even the fortified stuff) is just not suitable for roofs.
