Keep in mind that you're getting a lot of derision here because lots of wood workers and painters hate the idea of covering up good woodwork with paint. Myself included. However, some people disagree and that's fine. It's your stuff, if you want it painted that's your choice.
A friend of mine and I got hired once to paint an absolutely beautiful set of incredibly expensive oak bar stools. We wanted the work, but it was absolutely painful to apply primer to these things. After the primer, it got a little easier but we still complained about it until we were finished and returned them to the owner who now loved them.
