I am currently remodeling a rental property for my father. His idea is to leave the emerald green carpet with stains and just clean it. I am, unbeknown to him replacing the carpet with laminate. I have spent countless hours scouring the web for videos, pictures and DIY tips for a finished look at an entry door. I have seen reducers in photos and watched NALFA video that recommends end molding at the entry. I have hard would floors in my home and they have used a toe molding not quarter round (it is concaved in profile).

My question is what will give a more finished look--quarter round or end molding transition. I plan on quarter round at baseboards. It is an older house.

Thanks, all ideas are welcome and pictures of finished installs at points of entry are welcome and appreciated.
