painting new siding and i am  stuck trying to deside what paint to use .... i keep reading bad reviews on behr but i know primer is a must. Any ideas on what paint would give me the most for the least ?

stay away from behr paint. it is over priced cheap paint. get your paint from a paint store such as sherwin williams.get good brushes and roller naps. cheap tools give cheap results.

What MustangMike said........You will be amazed at how far a great paint gallon goes. It covers more and covers better than paints like Behr. In reality you will save money with better quality paints from Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams, etc. My personal all-time favorite is SW's SuperPaint. Maybe not top-of-the-line, but very good paint.
