My bedroom has straightforward electrical, with a single switch controling power to a closet light (which has a pullswitch) and an overhead fan with light. What I'd like to do is create a dedicated wall switch for the closet, independent of bedroom light switch. The good news (I think) is that the closet switch would only be about 3 feet away from the bedroom switch, on the opposite side of the wall (inside the closet).
My question is what the easiest way would be to get power to the closet switch, and how to wire it. The bedroom wall switch box has a 14-3 coming into the top and a 14-2 exiting the bottom. I broke a piece of drywall (approx. 24" x24") out where I'd like the closet switch to go for good access in the closet.
