Bedroom door with step down

I have a bedroom, off the entry way of a cabin, that is about 8" lower than the rest of the house. So when you enter the bedroom, you have to step down (one step). I am going to put a door on this and am wondering which way the door should swing, into the room or out of the room. I know that bedroom doors should swing in, and doors at the top of stairs should swing out. Since this is both, which one wins out?
