Hi all,

I need to install a set of beam supports under the house in order to reinforce a beam that was cut in order to make way for plumbing. I did not do that job, it was the way I purchased the house. I know I have to make a footing for each column, how deep are these cement footings recomended to be?.

The footing size is based on the loads on the column. How much weight will bear on the supports?

I did not give this much thought but it should not be much weight since it currently has no supports at all under the beam and still standing and no signs of bowing yet. I just want to install two of these columns to reinforce a beam that was cutted to make way for the plumbing. I am doing this as a precaution.
