Background: I found a Bose Soundlink Mini at the dog park a week ago on a rainy Monday morning. I think it had been there overnight in the rain. I took it home and dried it out and it works. I have been monitoring the lost and found at the dog park and craiglslist to see if anyone claims it. So far no one has.

Question: It doesn't have a charger with it but I had one at home for another device. The specs from Bose say Input: 12VDC 0.833A MAX.
My charger from an old device is 12VDC 0.5A MAX.
It charges the battery OK but if I run the device while charging for any period of time, the battery seems to discharge. Am I on track to assume my charger at 0.5A just can't keep up with an 0.833A consumption?

I'm not sure that its consuming 0.833 amps (10w), but it sounds like it is consuming more than the 0.5 amp (6w) that your charger is providing.
:vs_cool:Thank you sir.
If nobody puts an ad out looking for it I wonder how easy I could find a generic charger that would come close to that 0.833 without paying a Bose premium? Or maybe if I get to that point I should just pay the premium since I didn't buy the devise. :vs_worry:

My local thrift stores such as Goodwill and Habitat have dozens of orphaned chargers for sale, usually 50 cents or a buck a piece. You can bring in your device, plug in the charger and try it out before your buy it.
