We just had a failure of both primary and battery back up sump pumps. The new primary cost $500. The quote on the ion backup was 1800. Is this reasonable? Any recommendations on what to put in?
I doubt that the battery back up system really was working. It is an old Ac in the hole. Luckily, we never had to rely on it as we do not lose power where I am. The main sump had a switch that was sticking. SO, I don't think it was a debris problem.
I bought a couple Zoller pumps and I don't think I spent more than $100.00 each on them. That was about 3-4 years ago. Not sure where they are made now but the ones I bought were made in the US with a cast iron housing and stainless hardware.
