Early this morning I was awakened by a thumping sound on my guttering. I immediately looked out the bathroom window and observed several bats bumping into the guttering and then disappearing into my attic. Apparently there is a gap large enough between the brick fireplace and the cedar shake siding for the bats to gain entry into the attic. I can easily seal up the gap with expandable foam but before I do that I want to make sure that the bats are out of my attic so as not to seal them inside. What is the best way to get the bats out before I seal up the gap?
