An "L" or an "I" does not sound good to me a "J" Is good there has to be a place to trap water to block sewage smell.
I'll introduce myself fully later, but I have a very quick question that could save me hours of work.
I've already used google to find solutions here on how to remove already set PVC pipes, installing a bathtub on a concrete floor, and tiling. I'm getting into the final stretch of a modest basement bathroom remodel and I've become a bit punchy.
I installed the rough in for the bathtub drain and set it in concrete (of course with a 12x12" box around the drain assembly. Last night I cemented the PVC together and had a perfect drain assembly that fit exactly below my new pop and stop tub drain! Exactly below. As I began to take out the drain from the box, imagine my surprise that the drain/overflow assembly is actually L shaped, not straight down, and my perfectly measured drain is now seven inches away from where it should be.
I DO NOT want to saw everything off again. For one, I have a very short tolerance for error as the drain only sticks out about 4 inches below the surface.
So my question is--are there any bathtub drain assemblies that are only a drain straight down without the waste overflow? SO instead of being shaped like an "L", it would be "I" shaped.
Thanks in advance,
sabinh
