Hi just had a plumber here to put in 3 new sinks with faucets...on each sink faucet he was unable to hook up the horizontal rod and clip to the vertical strap and screw assembly. Basically the Horizontal rod is not long enough to reach the vertical strap. What is odd the sink manufacturer and faucet assembly manufacturer is the same...wasn't well thought out.

Any suggestions or a fix for this one

here is a drawing so the terms i have used makes some sense to you.

well the long and short of it (pardon the pun) is the the plumber was incompetent and the tale he told was a rather lazy one...i think he was to lazy to bother bended under and fixing it so he lied to me...I was able to get it done in 5 minutes/ sink...what a joke

Hey thanks for the reply...the whole DIY is the way to go!

thanks for the pic of the cable type mechanism..I like it!
regards

I have encoubtered this "problem" on lots of pop-ups. By turning the drop down rod 180 degrees (from the way the picture shows it) , you gain 1/2". If needed, you can then bend a double 45 into the rod to make up more distance. You had an incompetent Plumber.
