I am about to demo and redo an existing bathroom. Two of the walls are concrete block covered with furring strips and green board. The question is does there need to be a vapor barrier behind the green board ? And should I use some type of insulation paneling or something behind the green board. We live in south florida so i am concerned about moisture build up in this room. Haven't been able to find clarification regarding the vapor barrier. Thanks in advance

Vapour barrier in Florida?? Not so sure on that but you have barrier to protect the framing not so sure you need to protect the block from moisture. If you are taking down drywall you will be able to see if there has been a problem to solve. You could fill the space with foam board.

thanks for the quick response . that sounds like a plan. the people who did this previously could make a what not to do show so trying to do it right this time
