Bathroom in Floor Heat Circuit

949 Views 9 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  udraft
I am getting ready to install the Suntouch Warmwire in floor heat in the bathroom. The 40 sq ft with use about 4A. I had run one dedicated 20A circuit to the bathroom. The bathroom is mostly finished except I have a bit of access around the tub that isn't finished yet. I can kind of reach the wires where they enter the space, but it is a bit of a pain.

After a little research, i had decided to split the circuit into one 20A for the outlets and one for the floor heat, lights, and fan. After reading the floor heat instructions again, they say the floor heat should not be on the same circuit as lights and fan due to interference.

How have other people been wiring floor heat? Dedicated circuit for just the floor heat? Has anyone had any problems with floor heat on fan/light circuit?

Thanks.

I always use a dedicated circuit for each device, especially in a kitchen and bathroom. I installed Schluter Ditra-Heat in all of our 6 bathrooms. They are each on a 240 volt dedicated circuit.
I often wonder why people decide to go against the manufacturers recommendation. If they built it they have reasons and experiences with it.

You can make condescending quotes like that to someone with 20 posts. Not to me.

They aren't helpful, and they just make you look like an A-hole.

Use a separate 15 amp circuit. Servicing and/or issues with the floor heat will not leave you without the lights and fan.
Actually I state what I think to anyone. Whether the accept it as advice or chose to be offended is entirely up to them.

That's not what this site is about. There are other websites where people like you can go and commiserate with your like kinds. Every other response has been helpful. Not yours.

I meant no offense. Just kinda speaking out loud. Say what you want, I'm done.

Actually he can, because he's right. To go against manufacturers instructions is a code issue. So his comment is correct and I think very helpful.

It seems the other sites may be better suited for you. Oldmaster has said nothing derogatory. It is you that made his helpful comment into way more than it should be.
Post count has zero to do with anything. 1 post carries no more wait than 10,000 posts.
Chill out. Maybe you learn something. From Oldmaster.

Hey man you were correct. Most people have zero issue when it comes to product listing. I for one saw your posts and your other posts as good advice.
There is always that one guy. Ignore him.
