Hello:

I was wondering if anyone could recommend or comment on a timer switch that will turn the light off and leave the fan on for a set amount of time. Most switches I see are timed to leave the fan and light on at the same time but I wanted a switch that will shut the light off and leave the fan on for a preset time. the only one I could find is this one:

Are there others out there? This one is nice but it would be hard fotr any guests to understand it since the plate will cover the on/off/time.

We used the Broan light, fan, heater combo. All three appliances within the unit are on separate switches with the heater being on a separate circuit. I put them in a 3 gang box with the fan on a timer. Then had my wife label the switch plate in calligraphy pen, Light, Fan, Heat.

Looks very nice.

I only have room for one switch so I am looking for a combo one...

Sorry, I suppose I should have tried to answer your question, instead of just running my mouth.

Would labeling the switch plate allow you to use that switch?

My guess is you do not want to swap out fan units and add a circuit.

Air King makes a model called AKEDT2 thats is an electronic version with an automatic timer

Air Cycler makes a unit called SmartExhaust that has a few more features, adjustable timer, and an hourly vent cycle.

I'm planning to install either the AKEDT2 or the SmartExhaust depending on what i can source here in Canada

Thanks! I think I am going with the AKDT63. I read about the AKEDT2 and I don't believe you can shut the fan off and just use the light. It is pretty much an electronic version of the AKDT63.

personally I like the smartexhaust, the ability to override the fan is nice. for my basement bathroom/laundry it would be good as we don't often take showers down there. and as a plus the hourly scheduled timer could help down there to circulate the air in the basement.

in the master bath (that i'm in the process of completely redoing) the the light that the fan is on is over the shower. so any timed fan function would work
