Bath tub leaks down below during shower only, opened the trim, no dripping noted from the pipes, have changed the Moen cartridge, now the leak has minimized but contine to drip during shower only.
Bath tub leak is on the second floor in a two storey house, and bath room leak water drains down on top of the kichen cabinets.
It is Moen's old shower assembly with push/pull shower lever.
There is a water stopper piston right next to the tub, but does not work.
Should I change the drain assembly? or
Remove the entire tub to see where the leak is occuring?

Any help is appreciated.

Remove the damaged ceiling from below (has to be fixed anyhow) and see where the leak is coming from. May be from drain line etc...and nothing to do with Moen fixture.

if it only leaks when the water is running, i would check the supply live going to the shower head or the tub spout. remove the plate at the valve and run the water to see if it is leaking there. that plate may have a bad seal too, so you may be able to eliminate 2 options at once. plug the tub drain and fill the tub a little. if your leak doesnt occure then it is probably the drain. if you cant eliminate the source at this point you may have to start doing some demo to get a better look.

By looking from the opening down below (4x4 inches opening), the leakage/dripping occurs right below the tub drain stopper (drain stopper is a brass tube with pull up piston stopper since it is an old bath tub).
I truly appreciate your expertise.
Thanks
