I will be wiring a ganged switch box which will connect 4 black wires and 2 pigtails using #14 wire.
Is it better to connect all 6 wires in one wire nut or create 2 bundles with 2 wire nuts connected by a jumper?
If one wire nut, which wire nut is recommended for 6 #14 wires?

Do all 6 into one joint. To make it easier strip a good amount of copper, line up the jackets of each conductor and slowly twist with your linesman. It may not hurt to try it on some scrap wire before doing the real thing. You could get away with a red marrette(#35 i beleive). Twist it on hand tight and then tighten it down with your linesman.

The red wirenut is pretty close to the limit normally I will just grab the grey one { little larger than the red one but not that big as monster bleu one is } that will work perfect for ya.
