So my humidifier stopped working and I chased the problem to a loose wire to the transformer. The neutral is connected, but the black is hanging.. there is no "hum" pole on this control box - any advice would be most appreciated thx

The humidistat is in series from the transformer - in line from the transformer to the solenoid (pic 1 you can see the humidistat top left, exposed wires to right of humidifier (I was testing for current)).

Pic 2 and 3 are the control box - the lighter gauge black wire on top is the one that came loose. The humidifier transformer is not shown, but you can see the neutral and loose wire.

Not sure I understand the L1 suggestion - is this a switched 110 somewhere? Thx, and sorry for the basic Qs, I get by with house wiring, but this is not my forte...

Thx

If you are looking for a spot for the black wire of the humidifier transformer it goes on the ACC accessory terminal to the right of the brown fan wire. You have red>yellow>brown fan motor wires and to the right of it the ACC terminal. It gets energised with the fan.

Thanks Yuri, very helpful - I put a proper connector on the end so hopefully this will not happen again. Just have to fix the leaky compression fitting and I should be good to go - most appreciated, Kerry

It is a good humidifier and I have the same one. I also know how dry Calgary is as I lived there 10 yrs ago.

I would start saving some $$ for a new furnace. That one is old and will nickel and dime you to death with repairs soon. To the tune of $400 or more each time.
