Would appreciate it. Thank you. I was thinking just using stone veneer or grinding down high spots and gluing drywall to it

One difference I readily see is the first floor wall on mine is set back about 2" from the inner basement wall. The concrete corner is capped with the on site routed molding with the purchased base board against the bottom plate framing of the upper wall.

These may or may not help but we can always say we tried and good luck with yours.

what is a sheet iron?

It is a protective sheet of steel plate to keep the walls from being dented / dinged / pierced by objects banging into the wall.

There are several scratches , dents , and marks on the current wall.

Ramset some 3/4 strapping to the wall and drywall it.

PVC panelling glued. Panel trims for the edges and screw. You have space for slipping the panel next to the stringer. Clean the pvc with acetone. Primer for pvc and you can paint it.
