Basement replacement window

1211 Views 4 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  kjmass1
I have some odd sized basement Windows I need to replace. I was wondering if I could just keep the existing wood frame, add stops and get a vinyl replacement.

Or should I rip out the old wood and re-frame with PT?

Windows are decent sized- 33x21 with existing frame so need to custom order.

Depending on the condition of the wood, either will work.

Seeing as the cost of the unit is roughly the same from most of the contractors yards, I would go with the right size for this application.
Should be able to get it out with a chisel and hammer. Not sure what the wall construction is but given the parge type coating, its probably block construction.
