Basement - The toilet pipe should be 3" or 4", a shower pipe should be 2" and the wall (sink) pipe should be 1.5".
A toilet has a built-in trap. The shower pipe sticking up out of the floor should have a trap down in the floor and be vented after the trap, probably to the toilet stack. A sink will have a trap installed under the sink.
Kitchen - Your old kitchen sink should have had only one trap with both sides flowing to it and then on to the drain line. I don't understand why you have a trap left over. How did you trap and connect the new sink?
Mike
