Hey Everyone,
I have just started my basement project and I'm having trouble figuring out how to frame a hallway ceiling. I have HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and more that is preventing access to the floor joists, so I'm not sure what to screw into.

I will try to post pics.

You can either "hang" the ceiling framing from the joists above by dropping down 1x4 or 2x4 "legs" where you have access to the joists or you can place new "ceiling joists" across supported by the adjacent walls. Depending on the width of the hallway the new ceiling joists could be 2x4s or maybe even less.
