Basement sink faucet popped off.
2 hours of gushing water geysering to the ceiling.

Was thinking of just renting a 5-6 Air Movers from Home Depot.

As you can see there is insulation underneath.

Any other ideas?

Remove the carpet completely and do wood floor or dry it out with

Air moving blowers?

I have pulled it away from the walls and rolled it back and laid 2x4 down under it so it could dry and rented fans to blow air under them. Same thing, she had left the laundry room sink to fill for 2 ours.

Keep it cold. It's tempting to throw a few heaters in there, but that will just make mold grow.

Drying the water out with fans is the last step. Do everything possible to get actual water out. Rent a carpet extractor and suck it out. Shopvac isn't really made for that. And do that for 10 times what seems necessary.

You can rent fans and big commercial dehumidifiers. You can also get a regular box fan for about 15 bucks. Pick up a moisture meter so you can monitor.

I have rubber backed carpet tiles, so I can just pull them up. It takes me about 5 days to get everything dry. In your situation, honestly, with that much water on that kind of carpet, I don't have much hope for saving it. It's gonna stink forever.

We decided to rip up the carpet and through it out.

We are having Servpro Restoration come in for a free assessment
and see if insurance will cover this and help us pay for a new laminate
floor (water proof laminate wood).

Do you think our home insurance will pay us to put in a new floor
considering the problem/cause.

Servpro will help us with the process of going through insurance
to help cover the cost.

The carpet we dried was in the basement but the flood upstairs damaged the hard wood floor , total bill for the floor upstairs was 28'000, cost her $500. They wouldn't cover the carpet because it was a rental suite or something.

Some insurance companies have fine print excluding water damage, long story. Talk to your agent, maybe.

My experience has been that water damage from a failed plumbing fixture is covered, but flood waters from too much rain are not. Give it a try.
