I just picked up the wood for the bar top in my pub.

The bar top is going to be an L-shape.

So....do I cut it so the wood grain make a 90 at the turn?

Or, join the pieces so the grain goes the same dir?

Here is a pic of the raw wood...solid Mahogany...1 1/2" thick.

Hey Dawg... I would say yes, if the bar turns a corner, then the top should as well. If its more of a peninsula type bar then no. My last one was a peninsular type, just ran it straight across, but the bar rail (not pictured) turned the corner.

To get around having to miter the joint, you can always run the long piece to the end, and then mount the small part of the L a few inches lower. On the high part, run the edging treatment all the way to the end. If the small part of the L is the sink or a bottle rack, that's appropriate anyway.
