Have a slow leak out of the top. Replaced the bonnet and o-ring and water still slightly oozes/creeps out. Any idea what could cause it or how to fix? Would a silicone sealant or plumbers grease be appropriate on/around the o-ring.

Replace it. There's a union, ezpz123z. Write down the info and get the same one.

The poppit is what needed to be replaced, in addition to the bonnet and o-ring. The poppit is what seals the vacuum breaker when under pressure.
