How do I get these open? They are not seized, I can not find the release tab

Squeeze just a little bit. It should release.
If not spray with WD40

Squeeze and lift up on the piece between the two handles, that should release the ratchet.

I have been having fun with these. I keep setting everyone up. I crimp some wires with different crimpers then I leave these crimpers and some crimps in a pile and ask someone to finish connecting those wires.
Then I just watch how smart people are. No body has got them opened yet. One guy used wire nuts and put the cover back on.
